Synopsis
The Matrix is about a dystopian future where humanity is enslaved by machines with artificial intelligence. The machines use human bodies as a source of energy and keep their minds trapped in a simulated virtual reality called the Matrix. The hacker Neo joins the resistance to liberate humanity.

Lana and Lilly Wachowski
Lana Wachowski (born June 21, 1965) and Lilly Wachowski (born December 29, 1967), known as the Wachowski sisters, are American film and television directors, writers, and producers. Raised in Chicago, they achieved global fame for creating the groundbreaking sci-fi masterpiece The Matrix (1999). Both are proud trans women who transitioned publicly later in life.
